Continuing our commitment to safety with Dave, our PCSO!
MyMiltonKeynes is delighted to continue funding, through an allocation of levy payer investment, a local police community support officer (PCSO). Many of you will have seen and met Dave Sadler, who is helping to ensure our ‘Safer City’ ethos remains an ongoing constant for the community. Dave forms part of a wider Central Milton Keynes team that includes four PCSOs and two police constables (PCs), purposely allocated by the Police to provide presence and support to CMK.
A PCSO is a uniformed member of police staff in England and Wales, a role created by Section 38 of the Police Reform Act 2002. The main job of a PCSO is helping to reduce crime and anti-social behaviour, carrying out patrols and communicating with the local community. Dave and the rest of the team can be called away in an emergency but will mostly continue to be seen in and around the area encompassing the MyMiltonKeynes Business Improvement District.
We believe visitors should expect to feel safe, regardless of the time of day, to explore and move around the city with confidence. We working closely with Thames Valley Police and local businesses to inform and improve safety and raise awareness across the community.
