Milton Keynes Central Library is ‘choc-full’ of fun this half term!

Milton Keynes Central Library is ‘choc-full’ of fun this half term!

From Friday 10 February, MK’s Central Library is transforming into a magical wonderland based on Roald Dahl’s classic book, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

The library will host a themed set piece with a selfie space, a dressing up-box, props, backdrops, lights and music.  Children and their families are invited to take part in a packed schedule of FREE events and activities, from sweet-making workshops to story time sessions, which will run throughout the half term.

The Wonka themed installation is a collaboration between MK City Council and MK Theatre who are hosting Charlie and the Chocolate Factory – The Musical from 9 February to 5 March.  This dazzling new production starring Gareth Snook is coming to MK for the first time and tickets are selling fast.

Originally released in 1964, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory frequently tops lists of the world’s most popular children’s books. Telling the story of eccentric chocolatier Willy Wonka and the five children who win tickets to tour his mysterious factory, it’s sold more than 13 million copies worldwide and has been adapted for stage and screen.

There are events at the Central Library plus craft sessions at MK libraries in Westcroft, Stony Stratford and Kingston.  Booking is required so please visit www.milton-keynes.gov.uk/library-events for more information.

For those ready to solve clues on the Central Library trail, there are some great prizes up for grabs including family entry (4 tickets) to see the show in MK Theatre.
