Urban Food Market to open at Unity Place, bringing together flavours from across the globe

September 2023 will see the highly anticipated opening of Unity Place – a dining and entertainment venue in the heart of Milton Keynes, set to bring together the community, businesses, and leisure facilities.

An Urban Food Market will be a key attraction in the heart of Unity Place. The gastronomic destination will offer an array of innovative and diverse vendors via dishes that will rotate throughout the year, offering flavours from across the globe.

Showcasing a snapshot of the incredible variety and freshest produce on offer, guests can expect the likes of authentic sourdough street pizza from Raffaele, fresh and healthy poke bowls, tantalizing Greek souvlaki plates with homemade tzatziki from Meraki Soul Food, pasta specialties from
Campione, flavour-packed burritos, bowls, tacos and quesadillas from Cantina Carnitas, and delicious and nutritious salads from Field Tray.

The highly regarded and local favourite Bandit Bird from Milton Keynes will be proudly serving up a wide range of wraps and wings inspired from the deep south, Louisiana, including BBQ, buttermilk fried chicken, buffalo wings and much more.

The Urban Food Market will be home to Rye’s Deli, serving speciality Hej coffee and fine teas, which will be open early from Monday to Saturday, enticing guests with breakfast and lunch dishes including fresh sandwiches, soups, boxed salads, in-house baked cookies, cakes and warm pastries. Later in the day, the fully stocked Urban Bar opens Toast beer on tap along with a range of refreshing spirits, fruity ciders and soft drinks.

The social enterprise Change Please will be serving coffees from a specially reworked tuk tuk on the ground floor, which will serve the Work Café when it opens in September. Award-winning on taste, every coffee purchased also contributes to changing someone’s life for the better with profits going to giving people experiencing homelessness a living wage job, housing, training, and opportunities for their future development. Alongside the hot drinks there will be a host of indulgent sweet treats and cookies such as banana and rum caramel cake, mocha brownie, and pistachio and rose water semolina.

The Urban Food Market is also proud to introduce the Unity Place app, available for download on both the App Store and Google Play. This user-friendly app aims to speed up the ordering process, providing visitors with menus to browse, access to queue-jump, quick payment options, and loyalty points and promotions throughout the year. This will make each visit to the Urban Food Market an even more rewarding experience.

Rhodri Adrian, Account Director (Unity Place), Restaurant Associates, says: “Unity Place endeavours to be a prominent social enterprise hub, dedicated to fostering a strong sense of community. The eagerly awaited opening of the Urban Food Market is unlike anything else in Milton Keynes and not only will it be a space to enjoy incredible food, it will be a place to bring friends, families and colleagues together. The variety and quality of the vendors is second to none and there really is something for everyone with tastes from far and wide all in one place”.
