Seasonal Planting

Visitors to Station Square and walking to the shopping centre will see 12 new seasonal flower planters and six filing cabinets planters bringing a splash of fresh colour to the area and Midsummer Boulevard.

Overview

Often referred to as one of the gateways to Milton Keynes, Station Square has been given somewhat of a makeover. This includes the addition of 12 seasonal flower planters and another six filing cabinet planters to give the area a fresher look. This is often the first thing visitors to the city will see so it’s great that they will now be getting a much nicer first impression.

Landscaping Team

The BID’s landscaping team works hard to clean and clear areas across Central Milton Keynes making it a welcoming space for visitors, employees and residents.

  • 8,880sqm of pruning has been undertaken

  • That's more than the size of a football pitch

  • 1,785sqm of trees specially coppiced.

Heritage Project/Grafton Park

The Heritage Project has tackled a huge number of the city’s underpasses, maintaining them to an excellent level.

  • 350 boxes of needles cleared

  • 13,000 sqm of secret garden area at Grafton Park overhauled

  • Underpasses cleared and cleaned

Additional Funding

£177,000 of additional funding has been earned for heritage and further landscaping projects.

  • £177,000 of additional funding secured for future projects

  • This comes after successful green area clearing

  • This funding will fund projects above the regular schedule

Market & Station Square

Milton Keynes Market & Station Square have been added to the areas that the BID will be improving.

  • Additional 5 day a week cleansing.

  • Enhanced pest control with Axatax rodent specialists

  • These areas are the latest in the growing list of areas receiving additional services from the BID.

Pest Control

Pest control has always been high on the BID teams agenda, clearing the area of unwanted ‘guests.’

  • Pest control continues with extensive baiting

  • Building on the 60% downturn of Term 1

  • Work carried out across key city areas
