Milton Keynes Comedy Festival Delivers Successful First Year

The inaugural Milton Keynes Comedy Festival has been hailed a success, welcoming more than 1,700 audience members to 32 shows across 10 city centre venues over four days.

Taking place from 9 to 12 July, the festival brought together established comedians, emerging talent and local audiences for a packed programme of performances across Milton Keynes City Centre. Delivered by MyMiltonKeynes BID, with partners The Comedy Cow, the event showcased the city's growing cultural offer while driving visitors into local venues and businesses.

From sell-out circuit shows and energetic improv performances to intimate work-in-progress sets and family-friendly entertainment, the festival created a vibrant atmosphere across the city centre and attracted audiences from across the region.

Feedback from audiences, artists and venue partners was overwhelmingly positive, with attendees praising the quality and variety of the programme, the walkable city-centre format and the welcoming atmosphere throughout the weekend.

The festival also generated clear benefits for city centre businesses. Participating venues reported increased footfall and strong dwell time, while repeat attendance across multiple days demonstrated a strong appetite for a dedicated comedy festival in Milton Keynes.
