MyMiltonKeynes BID is now inviting applications for the role of Chair of the Board, as the organisation prepares for a leadership transition later this year.


The new Chair will take over from Paul Davis, who will step down in November after

completing the maximum six-year term in post. Paul has played a key role in the development of the BID, providing consistent leadership and support since its early years. The Board and BID team extend their sincere thanks for his dedication and contribution.


This is a voluntary, non-executive position requiring strategic oversight, strong leadership, and a commitment to Central Milton Keynes. The Chair works closely with the BID Chief Executive and leads a Board representing a diverse range of levy-paying businesses. The role includes attending four Board meetings per year, monthly liaison with the CEO, and occasional stakeholder engagements. Initial

This is actually a really interesting opportunity, especially for someone who genuinely understands how city centres evolve and what local businesses need to grow. I like how the role isn’t just about holding a title but actually involves shaping the direction of Milton Keynes over the next few years, which is quite a big responsibility. From what I read, the Chair works closely with the CEO and board to guide strategy and prepare for the next BID ballot, so it’s definitely more hands-on than people might expect . It’s also nice to see that they’re looking for someone with real passion for the city, not just experience on paper, because that usually makes a big difference in these kinds of…
