MyMiltonKeynes BID has expanded its popular flower displays across Milton Keynes City Centre, with the installation of 40 additional planters this morning. This latest phase builds on last year’s successful rollout and further enhances the look and feel of key destinations across the city.

The new planters extend floral coverage along the full length of Midsummer Boulevard, reaching as far as Hotel La Tour, and introduce vibrant displays at Xscape, 12th Street and City Square. These high-footfall locations now benefit from colourful planting designed to create a more attractive and welcoming environment for businesses, visitors and residents.
Last month, MyMiltonKeynes' Public Realm team also refreshed the original 50 planters installed last summer. Winter bedding plants have been replaced with bright summer varieties, ensuring a consistent burst of colour throughout the city centre as the warmer months begin.
Together, the 90 planters now in place form a coordinated network of flower displays that significantly enhance the public realm in Milton Keynes. The planting scheme not only improves the appearance of the city centre but also contributes to biodiversity by supporting pollinators such as bees and other insects.
Funded by levy-paying businesses through the MyMiltonKeynes Business Improvement District (BID), the initiative reflects an ongoing commitment to improving the trading environment and boosting appeal for visitors. The planters are designed with sustainability in mind and feature a self-watering system, allowing for efficient maintenance while maintaining high visual impact.
Jill Farnsworth, CEO of MyMiltonKeynes BID, said: “Following the success of last year’s displays, we’re pleased to be expanding our flower displays even further across Milton Keynes City Centre. As well as brightening the environment, these planters help create a more welcoming and vibrant place for everyone who works, visits or spends time here. Supporting biodiversity is also an important part of this initiative, helping to attract pollinators into the city centre.”
The flower displays will continue to be updated seasonally, with new planting introduced throughout the year to maintain colour, interest and environmental benefits.
This initiative is part of MyMiltonKeynes BID’s wider programme of public realm improvements, helping to strengthen Milton Keynes City Centre as a destination for business, leisure and community life.
