Exciting news from our team! Our landscaping crew has been hard at work recycling in Milton Keynes City Centre, and we couldn't wait to share the details with you. Recently, Brewhouse and Kitchen on 12th Street closed its doors, leaving behind approximately 15 planters outside. Rob Boiling, our keen-eyed Public Realms & Operations Manager, spotted these neglected plants and knew something had to be done.
With a mission to rescue and rejuvenate, our fantastic team sprang into action! Reggie, Ben, Sam, and Rob carefully watered the plants and moved them to temporary accommodations where they could be nurtured back to life. Once they're flourishing again, these green beauties will find new homes in suitable bedding across the city, adding splashes of color and life to various urban spots.
But that's not all! The planters themselves have found a new purpose. Woughton Community Council eagerly collected them and is upcycling them for two amazing community garden projects in Beanhill and Coffee Hall. These projects are truly special, involving local school children and community members with learning disabilities. The planters will be redesigned to be accessible for wheelchairs and individuals with different needs, ensuring everyone can enjoy the joys of gardening.
Thanks to the hard work and dedication of our landscaping superheroes, the area outside the former Brewhouse and Kitchen has been swept, cleaned, and transformed. It’s looking fresher and more vibrant than ever. We're thrilled to see these plants and planters given a second chance, benefiting both the environment and the community. This is a shining example of how teamwork and creativity can breathe new life into our urban spaces. Stay tuned for more green adventures!
