Partnership working and effective communication were on full display today at centre:mk, when MyMiltonKeynes private security officers helped Thames Valley Police locate and arrest a wanted individual.
While on patrol, Sam and Tariq spotted a man known for shoplifting and previously arrested for theft. Acting quickly, they contacted the Thames Valley Police City Centre Neighbourhood Sergeant to share what they had seen.
Their instincts proved spot on. The police confirmed the individual was wanted for failing to appear in court, a warrant had been issued at 16.00hrs. Sam and Tariq maintained observations on the suspect until officers arrived, leading to a successful arrest by 16.40!
This incident highlights the importance of close partnership working between private security teams and local policing units. Together, they help to keep Milton Keynes city centre safe, welcoming, and secure for everyone.
“This is a brilliant example of what can be achieved when information is shared quickly and our teams work hand-in-hand with Thames Valley Police,” said Sam Bradely, MyMiltonKeynes' City Centre Safety Lead. “Our officers’ vigilance and professionalism make a real difference to the safety and appeal of our city centre.”
