This week, the MyMiltonKeynes BID Public Realm Team are giving Midsummer Boulevard a fresh seasonal look, replacing the vibrant summer flowers in our 50 planters with a mix of colourful and hardy winter plants that will keep Milton Keynes City Centre looking bright through the colder months.

This initiative delivers on a key commitment in the MyMiltonKeynes BID Refreshed Business Plan 2024–27, where we pledged to create seasonal visual displays that enhance the appearance and atmosphere of the city centre — including the introduction of floral planters along Midsummer Boulevard.

The first phase of this project took place in June 2025, when our summer planting brought a burst of colour to the stretch of Midsummer that leads from the station up to the shopping centre. Now, as the seasons change, our Public Realm Team are carefully installing winter varieties designed to thrive in cooler weather while maintaining a welcoming and vibrant city centre environment.

Looking ahead, the programme will continue to grow — with plans to extend the planters to the opposite side of Midsummer Boulevard, leading up to 12th Street, in Summer 2026.
