MyMiltonKeynes (My—MK) is delighted to announce it has been named a finalist in three categories at the MK & Buckinghamshire SME Awards: the Positive Impact Award, Website of the Year, and the prestigious Milton Keynes Business of the Year Award.
This recognition reflects the dedication and hard work of the entire My—MK team over the past year, as they delivered against the priorities set out in the Refreshed Business Plan 2024-27, which launched in June last year.
My—MK’s Chief Executive Jill Farnsworth said: “We are so pleased to hear we’re finalists in all three categories. The team has worked so hard this year – they go above and beyond because they are passionate about what we’re trying to achieve. Being recognised for this effort means so much to all of us.”

The company entered into three award categories and has been shortlisted in each:
1. Positive Impact Award: ‘Our Purple City’ Initiative
My—MK entered its ‘Our Purple City’ initiative in the Positive Impact Award as the work undertaken on Purple Tuesday on 12 November 2024, helped raise awareness of accessibility issues and highlighted the importance of inclusivity. Plus the provision of accessibility training for all BID businesses and the commissioning of a City Centre wide accessibility survey, help ensure the initiative’s impact continues to deliver long-term positive change for both businesses and visitors.
2. Website of the Year: My—MK City Centre website (mymk.cc)
For the Website of the Year Award, My-MK put forward its cutting-edge consumer website, mymk.cc, which launched last September, alongside its vibrant new City Centre consumer brand. The website’s innovative features include a business directory, an interactive city map, a personalised itinerary planner, and AI-powered assistance to enhance user experience.
3. Milton Keynes Business of the Year – Transforming MyMiltonKeynes
My—MK has undergone a transformative year, following the launch of its three year business plan in June, which focused on realigning resources to maximise impact. Key initiatives included launching a consumer marketing programme, City Centre Gift and introducing a private security team to tackle low level crime and antisocial behaviour.
Paul Davis, Chair of the MyMiltonKeynes BID Board, added: “In my opinion, the dedication and innovation shown by the team is worthy of a Gold Award in every category entered. We look forward to celebrating their success at the awards next month.”
This announcement follows on from the recent news that MyMiltonKeynes is also a finalist in the Pineapple Awards, further cementing its reputation for excellence in placemaking and urban development.
