Winter Planting programme underway

Work is underway to replace the summer displays in all 90 of the city centre's planters as MyMiltonKeynes BID begins its annual winter planting programme.
The project will see each planter refreshed with a vibrant mix of seasonal planting designed to keep the city looking attractive throughout the colder months. So far, the team has completed the stretch of Midsummer Boulevard, between Witan Gate and Saxon Gate, with 78 planters still to be replanted. The work is expected to be completed by the end of next week.
The new displays feature colourful violas, alongside creeping jenny and ornamental ivy to create a cascading effect. Ornamental grasses have also been included to add height, texture and structure to the planting scheme.
While replacing 90 planters is a time-consuming task, the seasonal programme plays an important role in maintaining the appearance of one of Milton Keynes city centre's key boulevards. The refreshed displays will provide colour, interest and a welcoming environment for those who live, work and visit the city centre throughout the winter months.
The planting programme forms part of MyMiltonKeynes BID's ongoing investment in the city's public realm, helping to create an attractive and vibrant streetscape all year round.
